Which organizations are eligible for support?
The organization must be a small, local, registered charity or not-for-profit, with no or limited staff, a “Mom and Pop” operation, for which a donation of $10,000 will make a huge difference.
The organization must be volunteer-based with a limited number of staff.
The organization must be based in Sault Ste. Marie, and must agree that all funds will be used in Sault Ste. Marie. Funds received from 100+ women who care cannot be used for infrastructure or salaries.
The organization must be a registered not-for-profit or charitable organization. Organizations must have a registration number, no exceptions. The group must be registered for at least 2 years.
An organization that is selected may be nominated again after a 2-year period.
